Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How thick are uncoated finish business cards?
A: Uncoated business card paper is 14pt, equal to .014 of an inch. Each point (pt) is equal to .001 of an inch, to give you a frame of reference.
Q: Can I add embossed gloss or foil accents to uncoated cards?
A: Unfortunately, those options aren’t available for these particular cards.
Q: Is the uncoated finish on both the front and back? Is it easy to write on?
A: Yes and yes. Both sides are the same uncoated surface, which is very easy to write on.
Q: What types of designs work well on uncoated business cards?
A: The paper has a very natural feel, and it’s very absorbent. So, when you have a busy, ink-heavy design, it may look a bit faded as the colors are absorbed during printing. We’d recommend simpler designs without a lot of bright colors and intricate, small details. For more general questions, you can also check out our article, Business Card Design Ideas.
